When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?
[Psalm 8:3-4]
For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.
[Psalm 33:9]
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
[Colossians 1:15-17]
When I consider how big, majestic, and powerful the Creator of the ginormous universe which we happen to be a very tiny part of is, I am humbled by the amazing sacrifice that God made flesh was willing to make for me. We are so small compared to his greatness and yet he was willing to die for a speck of sand in the universe. When you look up to the heavens this weekend, consider God's greatness, consider your smallness, and thank God for His abounding love.
